COVID-19

Like you, we are concerned about the coronavirus pandemic. As psychotherapists, social workers, and psychologists, we are focused on helping our clients maintain a balance between irrational anxiety, complacency, and frustration.

To ensure the best course of action is taken during this crisis, we want to:

  1. Let you know that we wrestle with the same questions you have. Please talk to us about your anxieties and questions.

  2. Assure you that we will follow directions from the medical community to best manage the challenges we face. During this time of social distancing, rather than in person therapy, we are encouraging our clients to engage in confidential live video therapy as a proven effective option for your needs.

  3. Advise that if you do come to our office, we have hand sanitizer stations throughout our building. We encourage regular hand-washing. The cleaning staff has increased its focus on hard surface and touch point cleaning throughout the premises, including: horizontal surfaces in restrooms, elevator buttons, and door handles.

  4. Recommend the following for in-person sessions (as per May 14, 2020 College RTW planning):

    • continued screening (screen for symptoms and cancel appointments if symptoms are present);

    • physical distancing (2 metres from others, avoid gathering in waiting area); and

    • following office procedures:

      • logging office arrivals and departures,

      • cleaning and disinfecting common areas and other high touch surfaces and objects,

      • using physical barriers and masks where maintaining physical distance is difficult,

      • encourage and practice effective hand hygiene with use of soap and water/hand sanitizer, and

      • minimize use of common areas and shared equipment.

  5. Remind if you have symptoms, such as a runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever, or difficulty breathing, you should contact your family doctor before going out into the community.

  6. Provide you with additional resources that you may find helpful. For now we provide the following links:

As always, we look forward to continuing our work with you, our clients!
