Michael Gowland, BSW, MSW

Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist

*Serving Clients in Ontario*

You are reading this because you are seeking a change in your life. Perhaps you feel stuck or you are sliding back into habits that are causing you pain and suffering. Anger, feelings of insecurity and conflict with loved ones are things that you are experiencing much more than you want to. You may have turned to substance use to help numb or suppress the pain that you feel.

It is not easy to admit that you may need help and it takes courage to seek support. I believe that the path to healing begins in the presence of someone who cares and tries their best to understand your journey. I can offer you that support. I will provide you with a safe, non-judgmental space for you to work toward your goals while alleviating your feelings of distress.

The process will unfold like this:

  1. I will get to know you and your values while also learning about the challenges that you are facing.

  2. Together we will create a plan to target your goals so that you can focus on beginning to move forward in your life

  3. We will revisit your goals regularly to assess your progress and discuss if the plan needs to be altered in any way.

It is important to me that you feel that your time in counseling is effective so I will regularly check in with you to assess what has been helpful in our work together and what has not been helpful.
