*Serving Clients in Alberta*

Life can be tough! That is the reality, no matter how resourceful you are. Despite your high level of independence, established status, and confidence, you are currently navigating a tough situation that has thrown you off. Emotionally and mentally, you find yourself in unfamiliar territory. The question of whether therapy can help lingers in your mind.

Did you know that therapists are not exempt from life’s fluctuations, challenges in relationships, encounters with loss and grief, and workplace struggles. These challenges leave us feeling overwhelmed and disheartened. And so, even therapists gain from undergoing therapy themselves. By confronting apprehensions and seeking support, therapy has had a profound impact on my life, and it has the capacity to bring about similar transformations for you.

Jollie Willie’s insight, “A setback is a setup for a comeback,” underscores the idea of using setbacks as fuel for growth. Have you previously leveraged setbacks to propel yourself forward? What shifts in mindset could facilitate your growth instead of becoming mired by stagnation? These questions form the foundation of my approach when working with clients.

Perhaps you’re dealing with:

  • Anxiety: Racing thoughts that keep you awake at night. It’s hard to turn off the tape.

  • Depression: The weight that feels impossible to lift.

  • Workplace Struggles: Demands at work leave you feeling overwhelmed and is impacting your emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual health.

  • Relationship Struggles: Conflicts and communication breakdowns.

  • Alcohol / Substance Use / Other behaviors: Your relationship with alcohol and other substances or behaviors such as shopping, exercise, work, social media, and gambling.

  • Self-Discovery: Unraveling the layers to find your authentic self, not by eliminating weaknesses but by discovering your signature strengths!

I am here to listen, understand, and work in partnership with you by recognizing that you are the expert of you, and I have expertise in helping. Together we can explore and experiment what strategies and interventions work best for you. With empathy and collaboration, I offer:

  • Listening and Connection: Your story matters. I am here to truly listen and to hear it. We will build a strong working relationship, our “therapeutic alliance.”

  • Setting Clear Goals: We’ll define clear, realistic goals. What do you want to achieve? What are you hoping will be different because of attending therapy? How will you know this was worth your time?

  • Evidence-Based Interventions: We will draw from proven therapeutic approaches and tailor them to address your specific concerns.

  • Application: Between sessions you will have opportunity to practice exercises that reinforces our work. Knowledge becomes power when we use what we are learning.

  • Feedback and Adjustment: We will regularly review progress, exploring what is working and what is not, and adjust as needed.
