PSYCHOTHERAPY

Psychotherapy sets up a unique “connection” between you and your therapist that allows the change you are looking for to happen. Psychotherapy is not simply going for a walk or a coffee with a friend who listens. Our approach is not based on a hunch or your feelings, but is based on research that shows it works. Our therapies may include cognitive behavioural, mindfulness, brief solution-focused, psychodynamic, or meaning centred. We provide an unbiased compassionate approach to the problems you present. Our clients tell us that when online/self-help methods, coaching, or medication alone has failed, we have been successful!

PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT AND CONSULTATION

The basic components of psychological assessment include a clinical interview, psychological testing, and observation. The time, cost, and other components of an assessment are driven by its purpose and complexity. An informal assessment may answer questions about your personality, a clinical issue, or mental health functioning. A formal assessment often stems from questions raised by third parties, such as physicians, employers, teachers, lawyers, or insurers. Formal assessment typically involves a written report that may provide a clinical diagnosis and discussion of impairment, disability, prognosis, treatment, and recommendations.
